Tribeca Film Festival x Lincoln Motor Company

Black Label represents a new level of Lincoln luxury in terms of product execution and personal service,” said Matt VanDyke, director, global Lincoln. “This combination of elevated service, materials and execution will set Lincoln Black Label apart.
— Matt VanDyke

So glad I can share my experience at the Tribeca Film Festival with you all! Thanks to Lincoln Motor Company and their new MKZ Black Label car, I was able to have a smooth/luxury experience getting to each film.

Have to throw it back for a second....

When I think of Lincoln cars I think of my grandma! I remember her car being just as smooth and timeless as they are now. Something about when you get in all the outside noise would disappear. Not to mention the killer hidden car phone in the console....come on you all remember those days! Needless to say I always felt safe, and excited when my grandma had to pick me up from school instead of my parents.

Moving forward.....

Riding in the Black Label car, I was nothing less then impressed with the top notch craftsmanship. A craftsmanship that carries the same safe and luxurious feeling I felt when I was a little girl. There are obvious improvements since then. For example, a car phone is now a GPS, and this car provides seats that can massage you on your way to a film festival...enough said......

Also a big thing that stood out to me was the design. The seats are outlined with just a simple touch of red. The design is sharp and the seats are pretty freaking comfortable too. Also a sun roof was literally out of this world. You don't even need a convertible with this sun roof! The car obviously doesn't look like my grandmas, but it still stays true to Lincolns aesthetic through and through. So glad I had the opportunity to enjoy their services during the film festival.

---Movie titles/reviews below--

I was able to enjoy two AMAZING films thanks to Lincoln Motor Company. I am not just saying this by the way. Before this year I had not experienced the film festival, and boy do I regret it. There is something about being in a small theatre and watching a film that is being shown for the first time. On top of that, watching two films that were completely different from one another! Films and descriptions of both are below from TFF website.

Bleeding Heart Reserved yoga instructor May's (Jessica Biel) peaceful, clean-living life is thrown out of balance by the arrival of her long-lost sister Shiva (Zosia Mamet), a street-smart yet naive young woman trapped in an abusive relationship. May feels compelled to rescue the hapless Shiva, but she finds herself increasingly drawn out of her sedate world and deeper into Shiva's chaotic one. With Edi Gathegi, Joe Anderson, Kate Burton, and Harry Hamlin.

Man UpWhen perpetually single Nancy (Lake Bell) is mistaken for a charming stranger’s (Simon Pegg) blind-date, she just goes with it, leading to a series of escalating adventures for the two mismatched lovebirds in Ben Palmer’s hilarious romantic comedy.

  • I was actually able to chat with Zosia from GIRLS (seen above.) She was the coolest chic, and I felt like I have known her for years! More on that and the films tomorrow! Just want to thank Lincoln again for such a lovely experience.

Nook

Hey guys! I wanted to share with you all my collaboration with NOOK by Barnes & Noble. I was asked to show how I use the NOOK during my day to day activities. I was really impressed with how small and compact it was! Also a huge thing I noticed was the clarity the NOOK offered. There are so many tablets out there nowadays, but NOOK to me is different. It's very lightweight, and you will forget you even brought it with you! Below are all the ways I incorporated it into my routine!

In the morning I am usually finishing up projects due that day, and getting inspiration for what I would like to shoot in the future. So basically, the morning ends up being a "Pinterest pinning" morning...haha

The NOOK has an app store just like the iPads. I downloaded Instagram and Pinterest right away, and the clarity on the apps were great!

I have made working out and being healthy a lifestyle, and do it all from home. I have found the perfect program "XHIT" on youtube last July, and still haven't tired from these girls! I do it all from my NOOK, while I have my favorite show (Gilmore Girls) streaming on Netflix through my computer.

SIDE NOTE: Can we talk about how my messy bun looks?! It NEVER usually looks cute when I throw my hair up like that, like you see all these girls do in a second. I am sure it won't happen intentionally again, so I am taking in a good messy bun moment! haha

NOOK --> ON THE GO

nook-13.jpg

Usually I am out and about a lot when I am not editing at home. Getting out of the editing black hole is a must when you are looking at the same images all day. Another big part of my world is EMAILS. Which I will be the first to admit is not my strong suit. Meaning replying right away. I am usually back and forth with editing/shooting then emails are last. I am trying to get better guys I promise!

The NOOK makes it so easy to grab a cup of coffee and view/respond to emails on the go. It's so lightweight, and way better then lugging my laptop around. So basically, a perfect alternative between a laptop and cellphone.

Ok, here it is....I am not just saying this to say it...

Next time you are in Barnes and Noble, you MUST look the NOOK over. Coming from a person whom thinks "Oh wow...another tablet to throw into the mix..." I really think the quality you get for the price is pretty awesome. #lifeofnook

Info on the NOOK/coffee shop is below:)

PaperFashion

The girl that puts fashion to paper. I had the pleasure of shooting the gorgeous Katie who is behind PaperFashion. Her work is beautiful and I have been a follower of hers for about 4 years now. I know that sounds crazy, but it's so true. The fact that she asked me to shoot her portraits made me so happy. Not to mention a tad nervous...I am sure you are wondering why? Well right before we took photos she told me she doesn't usually like photos of herself. So I had that to overcome and prove to her and myself. I love a good challenge, and I must say I think these turned out lovely. She was just glowing. I hope you enjoy these. And Katie thank you again for asking me to take photos of you..I will never forget it.

Lately

Wow so many things have been happening as of late. I recently got a part-time job at UrbanOutfitters to have a little extra to buy some things for myself....haha. Anyways I realized I haven't really sat down and talked on here in a while. I am always updating with photos I am taking for projects I am doing. Not that I don't love updating everyone I also like to take time and talk about stuff. I am a human I have problems and ups and downs like everyone else. Though my Instagram may look dreamy, and only consist of coffee and doughnuts but....

Life isn't all doughnuts and daily cortados...hmm...if only...

Today I actually went to shoot something, but ended up rescheduling for later so then there was this camera I had on me...

I was actually walking back home and opened my eyes a little. I always pass this tattoo shop, and for some reason this time there was this little boy sitting in the doorway reading a book! First off I was taken back that this little boy was "reading" a book, and then I was even more thrown off by the fact he was just chilling in front of a tattoo shop. Something about the fact he was so into this book and not an ipad. Ipad's are taking over the world these days, especially with kids. They know how to work those things more then adults. Anyways the boy noticed me, and I asked him if I could take some photos. He said yes and I told him to stay how he was but to look down...then when I count to 3 just look up. He did so...perfectly I might add, and below is the result. Such a lovely moment.

Then I needed to walk around and enjoy the last fallen leaves that make the streets come alive. I do love snuggly weather, but boy does NYC take that to a whole another level. It has been teasing us lately, and I must admit I am dreading the blistering winds that are coming.

Also the last photo I must tell you about a lovely lady named Emily. She is the owner of The Object Enthusiast, and her products are beautiful. She send me a small vase and ring dish (I will photograph later) and I am just swooning over here. Make sure to check out her stuff....I promise you won't be leaving that cart empty...

Also it actually just turned 12 as I am writing this so I would like to give a shout out to my AMAZING / BEAUTIFUL / LOVING / SMART Momma. Happy Birthday Mom I LOVE you and I am so thankful that you are my mom. You have allowed me to follow my dreams, and I appreciate/love you more then you know.
