As I said last week I was going to start Face to face with...and I thought who better to start that with then Lua from Le Happy. She is a fashion blogger that I have had the pleasure of meeting from my last time here in Nyc, and she is truly amazing. I got to go out and shoot some outfits for her blog and asked her if she would be my first guest appearance! Below is an interview so you can get to know her as well!
-->How old are you and where are you from? Im 22 years old and I'm from Lima, Peru
What's the best thing about living in New York? What was it like to make sure a big move? Its the city with the perfect amount of beautiful places and spots to go. I am in love with it because theres always somewhere new to go! I love the busy atmosphere and the street style inspiration everywhere.. It was kind of difficult at first because it is indeed pricey and overwhelming at the same time, but after a few months I adapted and now I feel like home.
What are three things that, in some way, changed your life? Studying liberal arts followed by literature while I lived in Peru for several years because I gained so much knowledge.. then moving to New York because my life obviously made a huge turn and creating my blog because it has been the best way to meet so many amazing people!
How would you describe your style? Ecclectic. I have an ever-changing style! I love so many styles out there and try to merge them in a way that feels me. I love elements from the 80s, 90s , gothic style and I always incorporate vintage pieces to my outfits.
How and when did you start blogging? I started posting outfit pictures in lookbook and realized I wanted a bigger platform where I could share more than just one photo of my daily style so I created the blog! It was in 2010 I believe.
You have such a unique sense of style, and I love it. What advice would you give someone who is trying to create their own personal style? I always tell people to be themselves and try to express their personality through their fashion. Its about molding the trends you like to your own aesthetic and vision of style, and not the other way around.
Do you think blogging has change the fashion industry at all? How so or how not? Absolutely. It has changed everything I believe. Now people can get inspiration all over the internet because we are constantly sharing our outfits and inspiring each other. And now brands can actually see what the customer likes and not refer only to high fashion editorials.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years? No idea, I just keep doing my thing and welcome every opportunity!
Who inspires you? Everything and everyone I believe. I always get inspired by every detail.. from people in the streets, the internet, magazines, music and movies.
How do you spend your free time when you're not blogging? What do your weekends look like? I go to school and study Fashion Merchandising, I am always walking around the city when I'm not studying or blogging, or just spending time with my boyfriend. My weekends are spent in my apt in Brooklyn or a bar around my area.
Where do you like to shop? Online and thrift stores mostly.
What's one thing in your closet that you can't stop wearing? My beanie , I always add it to all my outfits.
